From humble beginnings in the 1960s, Samuru Gituto Cooperative Society has grown into one of the largest farmer-led organizations in Murang’a. At its peak, the Society owned over 1,700 acres of fertile coffee plantations, serving as both a source of livelihood and pride for its members.
Today, Samuru Gituto is more than just a farmers’ society—it is a beacon of resilience, accountability, and community spirit. We continue to focus on empowering our 4,500+ members, promoting sustainable farming, and driving socio-economic transformation that benefits not only farmers but also their families and future generations.
Samuru Gituto Cooperative Society, established in 1964 in Murang’a County, unites coffee farmers under a shared vision of growth and sustainability. For decades, we have empowered members by protecting their interests, improving farming practices, and building resilience within our community.
